MONDAY
SAM Allardyce re-affirms his interest in Real Madrid central defender Ivan Campo and asks his chairman, Phil Gartside, to provide the funds for one more big transfer splash.
TUESDAY
ALLARDYCE says Hendry will not be joining West Brom and fears he may not be able to afford to pursue his interest in Campo. He insists he must be given the funds to recruit a defender in the light of Charlton's absence. Per Frandsen is ruled out of a possible return against his former club, Blackburn, after a virus problem. Paul Wheatcroft joins Mansfield on a month's loan and plays in the Stags' 2-1 victory over Halifax.
WEDNESDAY
WANDERERS refuse to comment on speculation claiming Jussi Jaaskelainen has signed a new and improved contract that will keep him with Wanderers until 2007. Allardyce puts pressure on his attackers saying it is time they produced the goals to build on the solid foundation laid by his defenders in the last two games.
THURSDAY
MICHAEL Ricketts says Wanderers need to create more chances ... Colin Hendry joins Preston on a month's loan and David Norris goes to Hull City for the rest of the season.
FRIDAY
ALLARDYCE reveals he has sent a formal request to real Madrid to speak to Campo but has had no reply. Kevin Nolan, named in the England U20s squad for the friendly against Finland at the Reebok on March 13, dedicates Wanderers' survival mission to Allardyce. "He deserves it more than anyone else." Charlton gives Wanderers a fitness boost and could be in the reckoning for the Blackburn game.
