A MAN was banned from driving and ordered to pay £450 after admitting crashing into a car and driving away while drunk.
Stephen Shaw, aged 41, of Barley Brook Meadows, Sharples, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and failing to provide a specimen when he appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court.
The court heard that Shaw was driving along Blackburn Road when he crashed into a parked Ford Escort causing it to hit another car.
The parked car was severely damaged and the driver suffered whiplash and had to be taken to Bolton Hospital. Shaw gave a positive breath test but later refused to give another sample at the police station.
Magistrates disqualified him from driving for 18 months and ordered him to pay a £350 fine and £100 in costs. His licence was also endorsed.
