STAFF from Asda Bolton were left in a jam -- when they took part in a bizarre charity stunt.
Customers were treated to a rare sight -- staff swimming in a paddling pool brimming with jelly and marmalade.
Hundreds of pounds was raised for the BEN's adopted charity for the year, the Coronary Care Appeal. And Asda has also pledged to raise money for the appeal.
The aim is to raise £1 million to build a new 10-bed heart unit at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Staff at Asda in Astley Bridge, Bolton, decided to support the local cause after catering manager Kath Brooks, died from a heart attack while working in the store in 1999.
Store manager Stuart Davy said: "Most staff remember her and wanted to do something positive in her memory. Her husband continues to work with us and thought that it would be a great idea to support the appeal.
"Also there are many people in the store who have family who have had heart problems."
Staff took it in turns to wade in the marmalade as customers dropped coins into a bucket.
