Horwich RMI Harrier Jason Hodgson recorded another success at last Sunday's Lostock Six Mile Road Race to lead the Horwich men to team victory.
In-form Hodgson made light of the atrocious wet and windy conditions as he stormed to another win, smashing the course record by 56 seconds.
Last year's winner and previous course record holder, club-mate Tony Rowlands, recorded a decent run returning after a lengthy break to finish fourth.
The excellent Horwich turnout saw the RMI women's team finish second team to rivals Wigan Phoenix, with Sue Webb an excellent 75th and first vet/40 in 38.54.
Paul Muller continued his phenomenal top form at the Radcliffe 12 Mile Trail Race. The Horwich Harrier was only narrowly beaten by A. Jones of East Cheshire.
This was Paul's fifth year as runner up, but as a vet/40, nearly to be vet/45, this was yet again a terrific inspirational run.
Horwich team-mates Colin Rigby (fifth), Rob Jackson the 2000 race winner (seventh) and Adrian Selby the 2001 winner (eighth), secured the team prize ,with Paul unable to count at present. Tony Hesketh finished a super 20th overall (second vet/50) and Sue Jones a terrific 54th and first lady vet/35.
The top quality large field had some very heavy underfoot conditions to contend with, coupled with rain and cold weather.
