IN a nailbiting Bolton Association game at Clifton, the home side were beaten on the final ball of the game by Adlington.
Clifton scored 191 all out in their innings, with an excellent 75 by Chris Moores and 47 from pro Dave Parkinson. Adlington's pro Matthew Taylor finished with bowling figures of 6-61.
In reply Adlington scored well with Darryl Hitchen giving them a solid base with 65, but it was left to Mike Flatters to snatch the winning run as they sneaked home by three wickets.
Over at Spring View, reigning champions Walshaw cruised to victory inspired by 85 from Brett Collins, before the batsman had to leave the field with a hamstring injury.
Spring View had set them a target of 152 after 53 from Nigel Geary, but Walshaw replied with 155 for 5.
Standish were just too good for Blackrod, after bowling them out for just 86.
Jack Southworth hit 30 with the bat, but Standish pro Arindam Sarker took excellent figures of 6-40. Sarker then scored 27 not out with the bat alongside 36 from Knowles as they won the game reaching 90-2 in quick time.
Little Hulton reached a handsome total of 195-3 helped by a 74 from Paul Craig and Perry's 54.
Edgworth replied with a 30 from Critchley but could only total 131-7 after Lee had taken three wickets.
There were also three drawn games in the Association on Saturday. Astley & Tyldesley scored 137, which included 50 from pro Bazid Khan in an impressive debut.
Bowler Dave Baines got 4-40 for Atherton, but they had to bat out a stubborn 81-8 after Khan had followed up his batting display with bowling figures of 5-20.
Darcy Lever scored a big 200-7 thanks to 93 from pro Yasir Bashir and 69 from NIck Fawcett. But opponents Daisy Hill clinched a drw with 114-8 in reply, Bashir taking 4-50 with the ball.
Golborne and Elton also shared a draw, the former totalling 181-6 which included a quickfire 36 not out from Michael Cullen off just 18 balls. In reply Elton scored 146-9, with Chris Hall taking 41, and bowler Dave Roberts returning figures of 4-53.
