NATURE lovers have voiced their concern over the threat to wildlife from motorbikers in Horwich.
The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Greater Manchester and North Merseyside say the wildlife value of Red Moss, near the Reebok Stadium, is being damaged by bikers using the site as a racing track.
Red Moss, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, has recently had £30,000 of restoration work, and is one of the best examples of mossland left in the region.
Drainage from agriculture, development and peat extraction has led to a worldwide decline in mossland.
