AN inquest has opened in Bolton into the death of a man in Russia just days after getting married.
The body of Andrew O'Hara, who lived in St Petersburg, was flown back to the UK following a request by his family.
A funeral service is due to be held in Bolton.
Mr O'Hara, who is originally from Blackpool but whose grandfather was buried in Bolton, died on April 15.
It is believed that he was found dead just days after marrying a Russian woman. Mr O'Hara moved to Russia several years ago and was living in Lomonosov.
A post mortem examination was carried out to establish the cause of death but was inconclusive.
Bolton's coroner, Jennifer Leeming, officially opened an inquest into Mr O'Hara's death.
The inquiry was adjourned until reports have been received from the Russain authorities.
A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We can confirm a British man died in St Petersburg on April 15. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed."
