BOLTON Wanderers supporter Paul Bunting seized the chance to help the club invest in its future stars.
He was one of the first to open an affinity savings account at the Bolton branch of the Cheshire Building Society.
One percent of the average savings held in all the Bolton Wanderers affinity accounts go to the club to help fund the BWFC Academy.
If the average crowd at the Reebok Stadium each invested £100, then around £20,000 could be raised to fund the young players. Paul Bunting is commercial director for regional train company, First North Western, and travels with his daughters all the way from Stafford to see his beloved team play at the weekends.
Born in Bolton and brought up to attend every match, whatever the weather, Paul claims that it's a hard habit to break.
He said: "As a Bolton supporter, it is my duty to support the club in whatever way I can, whether that means attending matches in the wind and rain or putting my money where my mouth is. I already have a Bolton Wanderers credit card, so I could not wait to put my savings towards helping the club, whilst earning a good rate of interest."
People who open a Wanderers Saver account before May 31 will have their name entered automatically into a free prize draw in which the winner will have the value of his or her season ticket refunded.
