A MOTORCYCLIST from Bury died during emergency surgery after suffering serious injuries in a crash near Garstang.
Gary Clancy (40) of Rivermead Way, Whitefield, was riding in Tarnacre Lane, Church Town, near Garstang, on Saturday afternoon (May 4) when police say he lost control of his bike while trying to avoid a collision with another car.
Inspector Steve Chapman, of Lancashire Police, said: "It appears Mr Clancy attempted to take evasive manoeuvres which caused him to collide with a tree and metal pole. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he died while in surgery."
