VE Day in Bolton will be remembered with a special service on the town hall square.
The Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Kevan Helsby and Mrs Alice Kilcoyne, will lead a civic party down the steps at 10.55am tomorrow.
Vicar of Bolton, Reverend Canon Michael Williams, will read opening prayers.
The ceremony will include playing of the Last Post and a two-minute silence. A maroon will be fired to mark the end of the silence, which will be followed by Reveille.
The mayor will then lay the first wreath at the War Memorial on behalf of the borough, followed by a representative from the combined ex-services.
It will end with prayers, the national anthem and a blessing at around 11.15am. Everyone is welcome to attend.
