POLICE today renewed an appeal for information after a man was found dead in a Leigh canal.
The body was found at 8.30am on Sunday under a bridge on St Helens Road, known locally as Leigh Bridge.
The man has yet to be identified and police have made an appeal to the public for help.
He is described as white, 6ft tall, medium build, aged between 40 and 50 with short greying hair.
He was wearing a grey top with a red and white stripe across the front left side of the chest. It was emblazoned with the Mercedes Benz logo.
He was also wearing blue trousers, brown shoes and dark coloured socks. He also wore a small lapel badge which said GMB Lancashire.
