CELEBRATION is not just the title of Tyldesley Little Theatre's next play, it is exactly what the production stands for.
The drama is being presented as the theatre's own celebration of the Queen's Golden Jubilee as part of Tyldesley Festival.
Margaret Speakes will be directing the play which runs from May 21 to 25. And the experienced director has ensured as many people as possible will be able to join in the celebration by enlisting a large cast of 16.
Cast members who have played their part for the theatre since the 1980s are Winnie Evans, David Hadcroft, Ian Taylor, Ingrid Folkard-Evans and Frank Bowdler.
And they are joined by those who have built up a reputation during the past decade including Karen Morris, Ian Hunter and Kaye Taylor. Add to that three first-timers -- Roma Etherington, Andrea Peters and Gareth Jones -- together with Gemma Higson, a member of the TLT's children's pantomime chorus for many years.
The play comes from the writers of Billy Liar and introduces two Northern families preparing for a wedding, and again, six months later, returning from a funeral.
A spokesman said: "We hope that people will recognise and be amused by the characters and situations in this slice of northern life in the sixties."
Tickets for the show are now on sale from 01204 655619 or 01942 886908.
