ENVIRONMENTAL Health staff in Bury are take a leading role in promoting responsible pet ownership.
The Council-run service is setting up a one day roadshow at Kay Gardens on Wednesday June 8 between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Taking part will be the borough's dog wardens, the dogs from Rossendale Search and Rescue and Greater Manchester Police's horse and dog sections.
Bury Metro's public protection spokesperson Cllr Pam Walker said: "The event is all part of National Pet Week which is held every year and aims to actively encourage responsible pet ownership.
"It includes everything from dog fouling to care of animals.
"During the course of the day, advice and leaflets will be available and we hope passers-by, especially those who have pets of their own, will call in."
