Band name: Leaf

Line-up: Brothers Ben Shepherd (guitar and vocals), James Shepherd (bass and vocals) and Adam Grills (drums).

History: Obviously Jay and I didn't have to look very far to find each other, being imprisoned in the same house for the last 18 years! We started the band two years ago with another guy from school. But, alas, drummers have a tendency to not turn up for rehearsals so we sacked him and got Adam in last summer.

Style: Grunge punk .

Influences: Muse, Sex Pistols, Smashing Pumpkins, Ash.

Band/artist you would most like to support -- dead or alive: The Who. In their prime they were just the noisiest band on the planet, and Keith Moon was a complete nutter.

If you could cover one song, what would it be? Everything's Cool by Pop Will Eat Itself

Realistic ambitions for the year: We've already recorded an EP , but we have about ten tracks we would like to record this summer. Also, to play the Star and Garter in Manchester, and to get an annual mini-festival going in Egerton this summer.

Wildest dream: To play Glastonbury/Leeds/Reading -- basically anywhere that's not a pub!

Why should we come and see you? We are never satisfied with our performance, we are always looking to improve. We also believe that the visual presence and performance are just as important as the music. If the band looks good and sounds good, the audience should enjoy a good night -- in theory at least!
