ARE you in London for the Jubilee weekend?
At the Covent Garden Market the theme will be
traditionally British.
Apart from the Market's usual mix of Arts and Crafts and special Antiques Fair on June 3, there will be additional stands and food stalls, selling Cockles, Mussels, Whelks and Old English Sweets.
From the specially erected stage in the West Piazza there will be a continuous flow of entertainment for all the family, including 1940s old time sing along, Punch and Judy, the Covent Garden Street
performers and a Swing Band.
For those interested in photo opportunities, there will be visits from the Pearly Kings & Queens, and old world characters such as Chimney Sweeps and an Organ Grinder.
As usual, impromptu entertainment will take place throughout the weekend, courtesy of the renowned Covent Garden Market Street Entertainers.
But, for this important occasion, they will also be dividing their time between Buckingham Palace and Covent Garden so they can take part in the Queen's official entertainments. The opportunity to see the Queen's Jubilee procession will take place on the June 4 as it makes its way down the Strand at 10.30 am.
Covent Garden Market will be a hive of activity in red, white and blue. As well as enjoying the entertainment and eclectic mix of shops, the many cafs bars and restaurants will be open for business to provide a range of refreshments from light snacks and drinks to formal
dining and cocktails.
