A VICTIM of a street mugging, who was bitten on the face and robbed, has hit out at the sentence given to one of his two attackers.
John King, of Golborne, was attacked and robbed by two young men as he made his way home after having a drink after work.
He was left bruised and covered in bite marks when Derek Churton and Ian Livesley attacked without warning from behind.
Churton, aged 20, of Sycamore Avenue, Golborne, who admitted robbery, received 18 months' custody at a Young Offenders Institute yesterday at Bolton Crown Court.
His co-accused Livesley, aged 18, of Redbrook Road, Lower Ince, Wigan, who admitted assault, was sentenced to a Community Rehabilitation Order.
Mr King said: "They both should have been sent to jail. Livesley is now back on the streets again and in a few months' time Churton will be out."
