JUSSI Jaaskelainen has scooped a prestigious goalkeeping award - with a little help from his growing army of fans and admirers.
The Reebok keeper beat Chelsea's Carlo Cudicini, Newcastle's Shay Given and Liverpool's Jerzy Dudek in the inaugural Sky Sports-Barclaycard Golden Gloves poll.
The Mighty Finn, whose form this season has made him one of the most respected young keepers in the country, topped the internet fan poll with a late surge of votes - many reported to be from a Wanderers' chat group.
Jasskelainen, who will receive his award before Saturday's final Premiership game at West Ham, said: "This is brilliant news for me and for Bolton Wanderers. I am very pleased to be awarded this honour. I had a bad injury last season and to do well in the Premiership after recovering from it has been excellent.
"Our main aim for this season was to survive in the Premiership and winning this award is a fantastic bonus for us."
Of the four nominated keepers, Jaaskelainen topped the poll with 37 per cent with Given runner-up on 32, Cudicini third on 19 and Dudek on 12.
