house prices in the North-west increased by 11.6 per cent during the past year, according to new figures.
The Land Registry has revealed that the average price of a house in the region now stands at £76,466.
Historically low interest rates, demand remaining strong and shortage of properties for sale have been blamed for boosting the market.
