Where?

Slap bang in the middle of Bolton's main 'drinking drag', Bradshawgate.

Style?

Yates is the type of bar which caters for everyone's needs, It is spacious with seating areas around the sides and boasts an upstairs area with its own bar -- and even a roof top terrace for that rare case of sunshine. The dcor theme runs right through the Yates' chain -- its simply chintz . . . cheesy but comfy.

Handbag or Heavy Metal?

You name it and you'll probably hear it! At the weekend expect to see Ikon DJs spinning the decks and playing everything from the latest dance tunes to the good old faithfuls! Hallelujah -- it's raining men!

Kind of crowd

On weekend nights Yates becomes the drinking capital of Bolton, however don't expect to walk straight up to the bar -- service time can be up to 20 minutes. The bar is packed to the rafters with clientele ranging from long-haired beauties, to long-haired Neanderthal dribbling men - often found lurking in dark corner.

Price?

Drinks are reasonably priced with good offers behind the bar. The menu is typical, but revamped on a regular basis. It lacks the fresh, home cooked feel, with most of the food deep fat fried. However with a promise to deliver within 15 minutes it is very popular with workers on lunch breaks.

Verdict?

Yates is an extremely popular bar with all ages, and rarely has a quiet night. But whether you drink in Yates for the music, the cheap beer, or the dribbling men in the dark corners, every night is much the same, so if you enjoy what it has to offer you won't be disappointed.
