too strong
for Red Lion
OLYMPIA A and Red Lion fought out a thriller which belied the final scoreline of 39-14.
Olympia knocked Red Lion Ladies out of their stride but they retaliated in the second half, backed up by a strong defence led by Charlotte Fairclough. But it was not enought to deny Olympia victory.
Eagley Sports have made a flying start to their campaign with four wins out of four. This week Chequers were unfortunate not to earn a point against them as Tracey Nixon valiantly tried to stem the flow in centre court. Toni Betts was formidable in the Eagley defence which proved just too tight a formation for Chequers to breach.
In D Section Royal Mail and Bolton Metro secured narrow victories while an even tighter match was between Elite Security and Dabs. Com who fought out an 8-8 draw.
New team, West Bolt Juniors, made a spirited start in their match against United 7, taking a 10-7 lead but United 7 turned on the style in the second half to quadruple their score.
