THIS week, as a special, I'm listing my favourite Star Wars websites
www.balanceoftheforce.co.uk
PERSONAL websites set up by fans can be fairly dire if the site owner takes the whole thing far too seriously. This site is a collection of information about the films and characters that really has to be a labour of love. I can only guess at the time involved in what is, after all, an unpaid hobby.
Then, just to keep our feet on the ground there is a feature entitled "If Star Wars had been set in Glasgow instead of outer space..."
www.neal73.co.uk
I'M unsure about this site on a personal level but I am including it here because it may help some of you as it concentrates on models and merchandising toys rather than on the films themselves. However, if you are a Star Wars fan you may want something along those lines and the information here will help you.
www.sidiousnews.co.uk
AN amazingly professional site -- but still put together by fans who have even managed to interview some of the cast -- "You people are all quite mad really, aren't you?" Dave Prowse. News, pictures -- including some fantastic original artwork, you will never want for screensavers after this -- are mixed in with comment about the films and the characters. Not just gushy and starry-eyed, either, these people love the films but can see the warts and all. There are also some . . . erm . . . "humourous" suggestions of alternative dialogue for certain scenes . . .
...and the official movie website, www.starwars.com, is pretty nifty too!
