IT could be a millennium before someone finds it again. But when they do stumble on the time capsule buried by pupils of Tonge Moor Primary school at Turner Bridge, they will be able to learn all about life in Bolton at the turn of the 21st Century.
Eleven children from the school visited the bridge to check on its reconstruction progress and bury their evidence.
In it they put a work book on the history and progress of the bridge, photographs and a copy of the Bolton Evening News.
A thirty-tonne arch now has been fitted to the bridge as part of a £550,000 scheme to strengthen it.
The Folds Road bridge is undergoing major works to meet modern traffic demands.
Our picture on the left shows Cllr Guy Harkin, Executive Member for Environment and Economic Development, Daniel Yates, in Year 6 at Tonge Moor CP School, and John Evans, Head of Engineering Consultancy, with the time capsule contents.
