PLANS are well underway for this year's Adlington Carnival which will be held on August 9, 10 and 11, on the jubilee playing fields in the village.
This year, organisers have asked C and A Sports for expert help in running their very own football tournament. This, event will culminate in an exciting final at the carnival on Sunday, August 11, at 10.30am.
The five-a-side competition will be run by Chris Morris from C and A Sports before the carnival weekend, for under 11s and under 15s, although more ages will be added if there is enough interest.

The line-up for the all-star cabaret has also been announced, with appearances from acts to suit everyone's taste.
Singing trioTreble Chance will be performing songs to have you up on your feet, including hits by Westlife, Robbie Williams and Shania Twain.
Terry Joyce, a popular comedian and impressionist is also due to make an appearance.
There will also be music from Aphrodite, a four piece band performing covers of Abba, Madness and Culture Club, and Strange Behaviour, who mix their music with plenty of comedy.
The cabaret, which will take place on August 10 at 8pm, is admission by ticket only, priced at £10 each. More details from Mike or Jane on 01257 481941.
