TELEVISION football pundit Mark Lawrenson was left feeling like a turkey and regretting his decision to brand Bolton Wanderers relegation certainties as he unveiled his new clean-shaven look to the nation.

Lawrenson staked his 25-year-old moustache on a charity bet with three Bolton Wanderers fans.

But he lost the wager after the Whites secured their survival. And on Saturday BBC1 Football Focus viewers watched with glee as the ex-Liverpool star went under the barber's knife -- and donated £1,750 to Bolton Hospice at the same time.

Looking nervous as he walked into the exclusive barber's in London's Mayfair, he told viewers: "Congratulations to Bolton. Fair's fair and a bet is a bet, but I ain't looking forward to this one bit."

Back in the Football Focus studio, Lawrenson said: "I feel a bit like a chicken -- a turkey coming up to Christmas!" He was joined on the sofa by famous actor and comedian Alan Davies. The avid Arsenal fan joked: "I want to know where the moustache is now."
