TWO century makers dominated their club's games in the National Cricket Knockout.

But in the end there were contrasting results as Egerton went through at Hale Barnes but Little Lever were beaten by Central Lancs League side Norden.

Gary Garner was Egerton's matchwinner against the Cheshire side, recording a three figure score out of his side's total of 196.

Hale never looked to be in with a chance of reaching that target and were eventually all out for 124 as Egerton earned a second round date.

Paul Rayment hit 111 of Little Lever's runs in a massive total of 256-5 but strangely their bowlers were not able to complete the job and Norden won a nailbiting match in the last over.

Meanwhile Alderley Edge's score of 255 proved too much for Westhoughton, despite a brave effort from Rick Parker who hit 80 only to see his side fall 50 runs short.

Farnworth Social Circle and Kearsley fell victims to Northern League teams Morcambe and Kendal.

Circle's 185 for 5, with Dean Eckersley making an undefeated 88 and Michael Ashworth 53, was easily overtaken, and although Kearsley passed 200 in their match, Kendal triumphed in the penultimate over.
