PEDAL-pushing pensioner Ken Taylor has shown world class bike riders how it is done by completing the Commonwealth Games course in Rivington -- in reverse.
Lively Ken, aged 84, of Stapleton Avenue in Bolton, cycled the seven and a half mile route which the world's best road cyclists will use when the Games start in June.
The grandad-of-nine raised more than £700 for Oxfam and was supported by the Horwich branch where he and wife Francoise have been volunteering for the last three years.
He said: "I know I'm getting on a bit but I enjoy bike riding and even though it's sometimes a bit difficult going uphill, I just take my time."
Ken used to work at Victoria Mill in Horwich and regularly cycles up to 15 miles a day. He also enjoys mountaineering.
He decided to do the course in reverse, starting at Rivington and Blackrod High School, because that way it avoids difficult right turns.
His agent Lois Simms met Ken when she used to manage the Horwich charity shop and she took on the role as his agent for the fundraiser.
Anyone who would like to make a retrospective contribution can contact Ken on 840684 or the shop in Lee Lane on 696114.
