A MAN has been killed after being struck by a train near Bolton railway station.
The Bolton man, who was in his mid to late 30s but has not been named, was hit near a set of tunnels in the Bullfield area of the town, on the approach to Trinity Street station.
The driver immediately stopped the Wigan to Shaw train at 9.45am on Tuesday and the emergency services were called.
A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said: "There were no suspicious circumstances. It is being dealt with by the police as a tragic accident."
There were slight delays to services. A report has been submitted to HM Coroner.
