POLICE in Greater Manchester are launching a scheme using fingerprints to stop the abuse of stolen cheque books and credit cards.
The operation will encourage retailers to ask customers to put their unique mark on receipts and cheques.
The inkless stamp may then be traced to its owner if a purchase turns out to be fraudulent.
