FOR some time now, my wife and I, while walking home from our local newsagents in Bromley Cross, have been collecting, for disposal, carelessly discarded litter.
The journey of about half a mile usually results in at least one full carrier bag of rubbish.
We are aware that other people in Bolton do the same kind of litter-collecting, including schools and other groups connected with the Roadside Care Scheme.
In light of the recent six months' jail term imposed on the collector of lost golf balls, are we and such like-minded people now in danger of a similar fate? After all, we are, in all probability, stealing from the roadside.
