THE funeral of accountant and author John Cedric Brown has been held at Christ Church, Bolton. Friends and family travelled to the town to mourn the death at 87 of Mr Brown, of Shrewsbury Road, Heaton.
Widower Mr Brown, a father-of-three, was a partner in CLB Accountants, Silverwell Street, and wrote an acclaimed book, Serendipity, about his time as a prisoner of war in Hong Kong. His companion June Colley said: "Many people came to pay their respects to Cedric. He was such a popular and remarkable person."
