SHE was a ray of sunshine who brought laughter into the lives of all who knew her.
And now the friends of Rebecca Darlington, who lost her fight against leukaemia earlier this year, are to remember her with music and song.
Eight-year-old Rebecca, of Watson Road, Farnworth, had singing lessons at Knightsbridge School of Music in Farnworth where staff and pupils are planning a concert in her honour.
The school had planned an event to mark the school's silver jubilee next week but that has been set aside in favour of a Pop Idol-style show in aid of the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust in September.
Jenny Nightingale runs the school in Plodder Lane and taught singing to Rebecca.
She said: "In March, some of the pupils had heard Rebecca was really ill and they asked if they could do something to raise money for leukaemia research.
"We thought it was a good idea but later got the sad news that Rebecca had passed away.
"Everyone was very upset. She was a wonderful little girl, very lively and she always knew exactly what she wanted.
"The idea for this concert came from the children and it has completely swept our jubilee celebrations aside."
The event will be staged at the Social and Cricket Club in Gladstone Road in September.
Anyone who would like to help or make a donation can ring the school on 571068.
