BOLTON Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce crowned a successful first year in the Premiership with a special souvenir.
The Reebok Stadium boss has been presented with his own copy of the popular cartoon published in the Bolton Evening News to celebrate survival in the top flight.
The cartoon, by local artist Kevin Collins, was drawn to commemorate the charity bet made between a set of Wanderers supporters and TV soccer pundit Mark Lawrenson.
Lawrenson had predicted that Bolton would be certainties for relegation to Division One. But he lost his bet and had to have his trademark moustache shaved off. A total of £1,750 was donated to Bolton Hospice thanks to the charity stunt.
After receiving his copy of the cartoon Sam said: "It has been a great season and it has been especially pleasing to be able to prove all the doubters wrong
You can still buy a colour laminated poster copy of our cartoon for just £2.50 -- and this includes a copy of the Bolton Evening News -- at the front counter of our offices in Churchgate.
