STEVE Parry won his first golf tournament since turning professional when he clinched a Tamsell Tour event at Northrop Hall.
Parry, who lives at Atherton, beat Phil Archer of Birchwood in a sudden death play-off to clinch the North West tour event. Parry leaves this weekend for Portugal where he is playing on the Euro-pro tour and is hoping to be invited into the prestigious Challenge Tour.
He said: "I have played once in Zambia and came 23rd so I am hoping to get invited again. I am quite pleased with my performances since becoming a pro last autumn and I'm really enjoying myself."
