A GROUP of Bolton's most talented young musicians join professional artistes on stage on Sunday.
The Bolton Youth Orchestra will be conducted by James MacMillan -- one of the most exciting figures in British contemporary music -- at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester (7.30pm) in Music For May.
The youngsters, aged from 12 to 19, were specially selected by Mr MacMillan to perform with an ensemble of virtuoso soloists from the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra for his own composition, Into The Ferment. On July 3, they will reprise the work at the Bridgewater Hall, with soloists from Manchester Camerata. The orchestra is the "flagship" ensemble of the Bolton Music Service.
There are a limited number of complementary tickets available for Sunday's concert. Phone Parents' Support Group treasurer Jill Dick on 01204 301517.
