BUDDING chefs are invited to join the Jubilee Chef competition at three of the area's biggest carnivals this summer.
Blackrod, Horwich and Adlington carnivals have joined together to present the competition, based on TV's Masterchef and Ready Steady Cook programmes.
Heats will take place throughout June and August at each of the carnivals, culminating in a grand final at Adlington Carnival on August 11.
Entrants will prepare dishes using selected ingredients that they must bring themselves as well as seasonings and herbs that will be provided. Presentation plates must also be brought by each competitor.
The events will be judged by professional chefs and the winner of the grand final will receive a prize from the sponsor, Brewers Chef. Blackrod Carnival, at the Vicarage playing field, will hold the first two events on June 8 and 9, Horwich Carnival, at Station Park, will hold the next two on June 22 and 23, and the final heat will be at Adlington Carnival, on the Jubilee playing fields, on August 10.
