STUDENT Jason Farnworth needed five stitches after he was beaten over the head with an iron bar by McKerrow. The 18-year-old, from Deane, was attacked as he took a short cut off Deane Road, Bolton, after midnight on February 5.
McKerrow demanded his wallet and, when he refused, the thug punched him in the face, headbutted him and hit him on the head with an iron bar. He appeared to go beserk and screamed: "I could kill you now".
He took £15 along with a silver necklace and his watch. The robber also warned him if he went to the police, he would find him and rob him again.
The fearful student only reported the attack after several days. He said: "He didn't just hit me once. He kept hitting me in the head and in the face. I was left on the floor dazed. I am glad McKerrow has been locked up -- he is mad."
