A HELICOPTER pilot is seriously ill in hospital with a fractured skull after being struck on the head by a rotor blade after landing in a field in Nelson.
Roger Feather, aged 42, of Oxenhope, West Yorkshire, was helping his co-pilot, who had struck his head on the body of the aircraft, when he was hit by the blade after a gust of wind shook the helicopter.
