THIRTEEN-year-old Steven Leigh has hemopligic cerebral palsy which affects the right side of his body yet he has achieved tremendous success in swimming and athletics to take the Special Achievement award.
In the last 12 months he has set two new England and Wales Cerebral Palsy national titles in 200m and 1500m freestyle, and qualified to swim every event in his disability at the Disability Sport England BT Long Course Senior National Swimming Championships.
He was selected to represent England and Wales Cerebral Palsy Swim Squad at the World Games and amazingly set world records in the 1500m and the 200m freestyle and in the three relay events.
He has gone on to set a host of new world records and claimed national titles at 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m in his first DSE Junior Athletic Championships.
