Little Hulton earned themselves a second round Lancashire Knockout tie against Tonge after beating Association rivals Walshaw by 0.16 of a run.
That was the calculation worked out by the umpires after rain had washed out the game with Walshaw in a good looking position at 50-0 chasing Little Hulton's total of 168-9.
Of that Mark Penny scored 63 while Brett Collins took 4-23 and Ashley Parkinson 3-33.
When Walshaw batted, Anthony Harris was unbeaten on 19 and skipper Robin Faulkner 30 not out but frustration was the name of the game for the Bury side who had they got a break in the weather and been able to get back out to the middle needed to score six off one over to win the game.
Tonge booked their second round place by superior run rate hitting 79-1 against Ribblesdale League side Blackburn Northern, who had totalled 119-8, Ian Taylor taking 3-19.
Clifton were another side to lose out on run rate. They totalled 163-7, Gary Parkinson 32, Ian Morris 20 and Geoff Griffiths 27 but they badly missed the services of their top batsman and bowler Andrew Griffiths, who was on duty with the Association's under 18 side, and opponents Woodbank were able to reach 132-7 before the rain washed out the game.
