A DISCARDED cigarette is being blamed for causing a fire at a mill in Farnworth.
Denmark Mill in Cawdor Street, Farnworth, was ablaze from 4.55pm yesterday -- just hours after a car boot sale had finished.
Crews used three appliances including an aerial ladder, two hose reels and six breathing apparatus.
The fire took hold on the first floor containing tables and clothes but triggered the sprinkler system which stopped the flames spreading.
The premises, a multi-occupancy building, is mainly used to store car boot sale goods.
