COMMUNITY groups across Bolton have been handed £25,000 to celebrate the Commonwealth Games.
Projects will range from sports tournaments, fun days and community festivals to costume competitions.
Bolton Council set up the Commonwealth Community Fund to encourage people in the town to celebrate the Games and the Spirit of Friendship Festival.
More than 40 organisations have now benefited and there is still more cash available.
These include the Girl Guides, Bolton Hindu Forum, Horwich St Mary's Junior Football Club, Grosvenor Residents Association, the Step By Step project, Spindle Point PTF and Westhoughton Show Committee.
