A DRIVER who crashed a car into a wall after being pursued by police has been banned from driving for two months. Michael Godwin, aged 33, of Walshaw Road, Bury, told Bury magistrates he panicked when a patrol car began to follow him.
He sped along a busy dual carriageway, refusing to pull over, and swerved into the Wellington pub car park in Bolton Road, Bury, where he hit a wall and a parked car. He was arrested.
Godwin pleaded guilty to driving without due care, having no insurance and driving without a seat belt.
The magistrates were told he was in custody awaiting sentence at the Crown Court on other matters, where he could face a four-year jail sentence.
. The court heard that he could be jailed for four years on those matters.
