LEIGH manager Steve Waywell will spend the summer looking for a new goalkeeper after first choice Mark Westhead signed for Conference rivals Stevenage Borough yesterday.
Westhead was a commanding presence in the penalty box last season but financial constraints at Hilton Park, coupled with the shotstopper's family ties in the south, prompted his move.
"I am disappointed that Mark has gone because I know what he is capable of. Now I'm going to have to go into the lower leagues for a goalkeeper," said Waywell.
Speculation is mounting that Waywell will move for highly-rated Altrincham 'keeper Stuart Cobourn, whose proposed move to Chester City last week did not go through.
