THE magic of the movies has earned Bolton Hospice a £2,000 boost.
Longridge Band filled the Arts and Conference Centre at Bolton School with sounds from the big screen.
Music featured included hits from the Wizard of Oz, Star Trek, Gone With The Wind and Evita and the sound was accompanied by special effects and pyrotechnics engineered by Malcolm Smith and Matthew Taylor. Black Dyke Band solo trombonist Brett Baker conducted the band for the evening and the occasion was compered by local celebrity Don Howcroft. All £2,000 raised from the event has been donated to Bolton Hospice.
