A PENSIONER suffered burns to her face after a gas explosion at her Radcliffe home.
Lillian Doran, aged 83, was taken to Hope Hospital, Salford, for treatment to her injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
A neighbour in Belgrave Close rushed to the pensioner's rescue and put out a small fire in the kitchen with a bowl of water.
Fire officers are investigating the cause of the explosion. The kitchen had scorch burns consistent with a flash fire. They said there were no suspicious circumstances.
