Celebration, Tyldesley Little Theatre. Runs until May 25
YOU can choose your friends but you can't choose your family, as the saying goes, and this was certainly the case at TLT last night.
Directed by Margaret Speakes, the first half of this Golden Jubilee production focused on the preparations for the wedding of Christine Lucas (Gemma Higson) to her sweetheart the affable Bernard (Matt Sawyers).
In keeping with tradition the bride's mother does all the running around, fussing, and organising in readiness for the big day and Kaye Taylor in her role as the well-organised matriarch, Rhoda, was excellent.
The second half of the evening centred on the funeral of one of the family members (I won't say which) and a few skeletons come out of the closet. Last night's prodution was dedicated to the memory of TLT member Samantha Hadcroft, who died recently.
