LOCAL bait dealer, Dave Williams had a good day's fishing in the Wednesday open on Walkden Boat Shed water.
Switching between bloodworm and bread punch the BAS Image angler caught 6 tench and a number of crucians to return a creditable 23lbs-7ozs. for top place.
Second was former England man Alan McAtee, who fished similar methods to take 5 tench for 17lbs-14ozs. Harry McCoy was third with 16lbs-4ozs, fourth was Steve Whitworth with 9lbs-7ozs and Gary Parker was fifth with 7lbs-0ozs.
In the Sunday open there were joint winners with Steve Whitworth and Harry McCoy returning 10lbs-2ozs. Ken Baxter was third with 8lbs-4ozs.
