MONDAY morning! A dull beginning, and the usual drag of daily rounds, common tasks and all that!
Suddenly the Bolton Evening News slams it all away!
The headlines show the front page full of joy. Moreover, it shares that joy with everyone, and it proves that Bolton Evening News doesn't always have the "savvy" to print disasters for headlines.
The article referred to was that lovely picture of a beautiful bride kissing her father who had recovered from an operation. The smiling face shows their loving gesture towards each other. What better reward, too, for the doctors and nurses who must have shared in it?
The Bolton Evening News was right to publish that picture on the front page. "Happiness is catching". "We get it from one another", and it's wonderful when it happens. Thank you, Editor, for the wise choice of your front cover -- it was something I myself needed at that particular time to lift my spirits.
Keep up the good work and may the good people of Bolton come to appreciate that all news is not bad, and not all Mondays are like wet washing days. Furthermore, the picture will be treasured by that lovely bride and her father for many years to come.
