Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but if your job was to host a bitingly satirical game show based on the week's news, you don't really want to find yourself in the tabloids due to a dubious dalliance with a call girl, do you?
So how Angus Deayton hopes to hide his shame tonight, when Have I Got News For You is screened, is anyone's guess.
The only thing on Deayton's side is that the programme is on at the same time as the first Big Brother show of the new series over on Channel 4.
Whatever happens, Paul Merton's face will be a picture, while Hislop will no doubt look even more smug than usual -- if that is humanly possible. Unmissable TV.
