THIS week's selection of new products are unashamedly designed for women -- and I make no excuse for deliberately seeking out girlie goodies.
RIMMEL has launched the Sunkiss 008 (£2.29), the newest addition to the delicious range of fragrance body sprays from the cosmetics company. It combines the fruity and seductive scents of tomato leaf and mango with the pine musk and woody fragrances. Should be perfect for cool summer evenings. Available from Boots, Superdrug and independent chemists.
CACHET has a whole host of sweet-smelling products designed to capture this summer's romantic theme perfectly. Moisturising bath and shower gel and body lotion (both £3.49) and 100g talc (£3.95) complement the EDT spray (£5.95 for 15ml, £9.50 for 30ml) perfectly. A top tip for a lasting scent is to layer products by starting with the shower gel, moving on to the body lotion, follow with talc and the perfumed body spray (£2.49) and finish with the EDT spray. The result should be a stunning fragrance. Look out for the range in Boots and independent chemists. For stockists ring 01252 533317.
L'OREAL has pretty much cornered the market in shampoo for children. It really does what it says -- prevents sore eyes and makes hair easy to comb. Now the range includes So Strawberry Shampoo (£2.49), an extra gentle, creamy shampoo and conditioner in one. It smells so good it is a pity to confine its use to small heads. Why not try it on the grown-up members of the family too. Look out for it in Boots, Superdrug, supermarkets and independent pharmacies.
BOURJOIS has unveiled new additions to its range with a super idea of fluid foundation in single-use capsules. The single dose packaging preserves the formula until it is opened. You get three cards with 12 applications on each (£11.50 for 36 capsules) and they come in a silky, fluid texture which becomes a powdery veil when applied. Also, look out for the fine-pressed bronzing powders for a healthy summer glow without the sun. There is a golden and a deep bronze version (£10.50) and both exciting new products are available from Boots and Superdrug.
WAX A WAY eyebrow shapers (£2.49) are, apparently, the new, fast, easy to use, error free way to remove hair from and shape your eyebrows without the pain and guesswork of tweezing. I am finding it difficult to imagine any pain-free way to rid eyebrows of hairs but they sound good. The shapers are pre-cut strips that are contoured so that when placed under and, or even above, the eyebrow they remove the hair to create the perfect arch. Each pack contains 21 applications. They are available in Boots.
ELEMIS products are gorgeous and the new additions to the range are no exception. These particular items are perfect for sport enthusiasts who want something to help them relax after tough physical exercise. Try the Aching Muscle Super Soak (£29) which provides an incredible deep heat treatment. Now I know I said this week's column was specifically for women but this is a little treat for men too. Just add three capfuls to a running bath and it will help unwind mind and body for 10 to 15 minutes or so. The instant refreshing gel (£23) is as good as it sounds, providing instant refreshment for muscle tension, bruised and tired legs. It can also be massaged into arms, neck and shoulders for instant relief. The Musclease Active Body Concentrate (£26.50) is perfect after soaking as a powerful body oil, particularly for over-worked areas. For stockists ring 020 8954 8033.
